Friends Dancing in Bubbles

Community

Regeneration is not all about buildings and the built environment, the role of the community is key.

Get involved in the High Street

Community involvement is a central part of the HSHAZ.

From 2021-2024, there will be a series of community activities and events to engage in local heritage, learn new skills and consider the future of the high street. This may include:

  • Guided walks and tours

  • Talks, presentations and research projects

  • Local history workshops

  • Photography projects

  • School visits

  • Exhibition and community conversations

These will be delivered by SSDC and partner organisations including Historic England, Chard Museum and Holyrood Academy. If you run a local group or organisation and have a great idea for engaging others in the history of Chard’s high street, please get in touch through our Contact Us form with the HSHAZ Project Manager.

Details of planned events will be shared here when they are available.
